Fleishon named chair of ACR Board of Chancellors

The American College of Radiology (ACR) has named Dr. Howard Fleishon of Emory University as chair of its Board of Chancellors.

Fleishon takes over the chair position for the next two years, succeeding Dr. Geraldine McGinty, who is now ACR president. The announcement was made at this week's ACR 2020 annual meeting, being held online.

Fleishon has been active at ACR, holding a range of positions including vice chair, secretary-treasurer, council speaker, vice chair of the Commission on Government Relations, and founder and former chair of the Radiology Advocacy Network. At Emory, Fleishon is division director of community radiology services at the university's department of radiology and imaging services.

Other new board members include Dr. Jacqueline Bello as vice chair and Dr. Alexander Norbash as vice president. The previous chair of the ACR Commission on Quality and Safety, Bello is director of neuroradiology at Montefiore Medical Center and a professor of radiology and neurosurgery at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine.

All four new officers will take office immediately after the ACR 2020 meeting.
