ASTRO names new editor in chief for clinical journal

January 15, 2020 -- The American Society for Radiation Oncology (ASTRO) has chosen Dr. Robert Amdur to serve as editor in chief of its clinical practice journal Practical Radiation Oncology, effective January 1, 2021.

Amdur is a professor of radiation oncology at the University of Florida College of Medicine and has been on the editorial board of Practical Radiation Oncology since the journal's inception. He has also authored or coauthored more than 300 published books, chapters, and journal articles.

Amdur said he plans to continue building the journal's prestige while also honing in on new trends in scholarly publishing, when he takes over for current Editor-in-Chief Dr. W. Robert Lee.
