Revenue, profit slip in Q4 for GE Healthcare

January 22, 2016 -- GE Healthcare saw both revenue and operating profit slip in the fourth quarter of 2015.

For the period, GE Healthcare reported revenues of $4.973 billion, down 3% from fourth-quarter sales of $5.133 billion in 2014. The healthcare division's segment profit for the quarter was $938 million, down 8% from $1.02 billion in the corresponding quarter of 2014.

The company reported orders of $5.2 billion, down 4% after currency adjustments but up 1% organically. The biggest drops in orders were seen in Europe and emerging markets, both down 8%; U.S. orders were down 1% and China was down 6%.

For the full year, GE Healthcare posted revenues of $17.639 billion, down 4% from revenues of $18.299 billion in 2014. The healthcare segment's profit for 2015 stood at $2.882 billion, down 5% from $3.047 billion in 2014.
