By AuntMinnie.com staff writers

May 22, 2023 -- Philips Healthcare parent Royal Philips is partnering with Vanderbilt University Medical Center on a project to reduce the center's carbon footprint.

The project will be centered in Vanderbilt's radiology department and will focus on assessing the energy consumption of the medical center's MRI, CT, ultrasound, and x-ray equipment. Philips will help Vanderbilt track equipment lifecycle data, analyze operational workflow efficiency, and interview staff and faculty to develop computational models on which to run energy assessment simulations, Philips said.
