Intelligent Ultrasound adds endometriosis module to ScanTrainer

May 15, 2023 -- Intelligent Ultrasound has added an endometriosis module to its ScanTrainer transvaginal and transabdominal ultrasound simulation platform.

The module includes two e-learning units and 24 endometriosis cases to help sonographers better identify the condition, the company said.

Around the world, 10% of women have endometriosis, and it can take eight years from symptom onset to diagnosis, according to Intelligent Ultrasound. Transvaginal sonography is the first-line technique for diagnosing the condition, but developing skills to identify endometriosis using transvaginal sonography can be challenging.

The ScanTrainer endometriosis module takes the user through ultrasound evaluation of the pelvis, and it includes clinical cases that help users identify disease in the bladder, bowel, and ovaries.

Intelligent Ultrasound introduced the new module at the recent Congress on Endometriosis held in Edinburgh, Scotland.
