Barco nets Spanish display order

March 10, 2008 -- Image display and advanced visualization firm Barco has been awarded a contract from Spain worth an estimated 4 million euros ($6.1 million U.S.).

The Kortrijk, Belgium-based firm will provide its Coronis diagnostic display systems in an order from Red.es, a public company created by the Spanish Industry Ministry to advise local governments on IT purchases.

Red.es selected Barco's partner, Telefonica Soluciones, to supply Coronis display systems and MediCal QAWeb software. The displays will be used for the introduction and development of PACS in Spanish hospitals.
