Calif. Radiologist arrested on attempted murder moved to jail

January 31, 2023 -- A Los Angeles radiologist arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after driving a vehicle with his family inside over a Northern California cliff has been moved from hospital to jail, according to an article published January 28 in People magazine.

Dr. Dharmesh Patel is being held without bail at San Mateo County jail after the crash, which occurred on January 2. Patel's wife and two children were with him in the vehicle, a Tesla sedan. All four survived the approximately 250-ft drop.

Prosecutors are investigating whether mechanical problems could have caused the crash, People reported.
