October 18, 2004 --

Based on responses to IMV's 2003 Cardiac Cath Lab Census Study.

In 2002, 89% (3.441 million) of all cath lab cases were cardiac-related, with 11% (404,000) noncardiac cases (carotid, iliac, femoral, run-off, renal, extremity cases).

Based on responses to IMV's 2003 Cardiac Cath Lab Census Study.

A slightly larger proportion of total cath lab cases is noncardiac in < 200-bed hospital cath labs (16%) compared to those conducted in other sites.
