Dr. Ameer Hassan of the Valley Baptist Medical Center in Texas presented two studies on Viz.ai's software demonstrating reduced door-in door-out times at primary stroke centers, improved door-in-to-puncture times at comprehensive stroke centers, and improved reperfusion rates.
He and his colleagues compared the time interval between entering and leaving one of Valley Baptist's 12 primary stroke centers before being transferred to the comprehensive stroke center for an emergent operation.
They found a significant, 45% (102.3-minutes) average reduction in door-in door-out time for patients whose care was coordinated with the Viz.ai software. Plus, they noticed an 11.4% improvement in patients' modified Rankin scale scores, which measure stroke outcomes.
In other research presented at the conference, Dr. Brian Jankowitz from Cooper University Health Care in New Jersey shared how Viz.ai's clinical trial enrollment software, Viz Recruit, led to faster patient detection and increased enrollment velocity in the AI Enrich trial.
Jankowitz and his research team found AI can automate the detection and triage of intracranial hemorrhage patients and increase enrollment velocity in clinical trials. The prospective trial uses Viz Recruit to identify potentially eligible study subjects, and the group found that doing so produced a 41% increase in screening rate and a 213% increase in enrollment rates.
