First patient treated with CLS prostate cancer therapy system

April 22, 2022 -- Clinical Laserthermia Systems (CLS) Americas said the first patient has been treated in a prostate cancer trial using the company's Tranberg thermal therapy system.

The 20-patient, phase I clinical study combines the system with the Focalyx Fusion medical device for treatment planning, image fusion, and real-time image guidance via MRI during focal laser ablation treatment for prostate cancer.

The study is being led by the Florida-based Urological Research Network.
