July 24, 2020 -- Northwell Health has launched a home care program for people with COVID-19 that includes x-ray imaging if needed.

The health system's COVID Ambulatory Resource Support (CARES) program is for mildly ill patients who need support; it offers services such as telehealth appointments with primary care physicians and advice on if and when to report to the hospital.

Northwell's Coronavirus Related Outpatient Work Navigators (CROWN) program offers care to patients with moderate to severe symptoms, including portable x-rays if needed, home care nurses, phlebotomists, pulse oximeters, anticoagulant medication, and intravenous line placement, according to the system.
