FDA clears Zebra's mammography AI

By AuntMinnie.com staff writers

July 27, 2020 -- The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has cleared the HealthMammo software from artificial intelligence (AI) developer Zebra Medical Vision.

HealthMammo helps radiologists prioritize and identify suspicious mammograms on 2D mammography. The scans are sent to Zebra Medical's imaging analytics platform for analysis; the HealthMammo software then returns the result to the interpreting radiologist.

The company hopes HealthMammo will help providers cope with screening mammography backlogs caused by COVID-19 by streamlining workflow, it said.
