July 14, 2015 -- Computer-aided detection (CAD) and radiation therapy firm iCAD has launched a new cervical applicator for its Xoft Axxent electronic brachytherapy system.

The company is highlighting the applicator and multiplatform controller at the American Association of Physicists in Medicine (AAPM) meeting this week in Anaheim, CA. The device is used to deliver a targeted dose of radiation to larger areas of the cervix while minimizing exposure to healthy tissue, according to iCAD.
