SensorySuite surrounds mammography patients with an interactive experience that stimulates three of the senses simultaneously -- sight, smell, and hearing -- to help distract them from the perceived discomfort and anxiety of a mammogram, Sharp Rees-Stealy said. The patient is given a scented bracelet, the air also has a fragrance, and flat-screen wall monitors display relaxing videos and photos while projecting soothing sounds.
