September 26, 2022 -- The Barbara Ann Karmanos Cancer Institute in Detroit has installed the SoftVue 3D whole-breast ultrasound tomography system for imaging dense breast tissue from Delphinus Medical Technologies.

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration approved the system in October of last year. SoftVue has been shown to find up to 20% more breast cancers when used with screening mammography, according to Karmanos.

Karmanos is the parent organization of Delphinus Medical Technologies, which it launched as a spinoff in 2009.
