The awards recognize excellence in the field of sonography research, education, and writing. The winners were honored on September 25 at the organization's virtual annual conference.

The winners included Kimberly Michael for the Distinguished Educator Award and Joy Guthrie, PhD, who took home top prize for the Kenneth R. Gottesfeld Award in recognition of outstanding research or review articles in the Journal of Diagnostic Medical Sonography.

Other awards recognized at the conference included the winners of the W. Frederick Sample student excellence awards for outstanding diagnostic medical sonography writing, the scientific presentation competition for original summary papers, and the poster competition.
