November 10, 2020 -- Radiation oncology vendor Varian has completed a $10 million investment and signed a collaboration agreement with oncology clinical data curator Cota.

Varian will now offer Cota's oncology analytics and data curation services, which are designed to aggregate electronic health record data to provide meaningful insights, according to the firms. In addition, Cota will assist Varian in enhancing its Intelligent CancerCare decision-support tools.

The $10 million investment was provided in the form of a convertible loan with an option to acquire Cota in the future, according to Varian. Along with a $10 million investment earlier this year, Varian has now invested a total of $20 million in Cota.
