IsoRay, MIM Software team on treatment for head, neck cancer

By staff writers

February 5, 2020 -- Medical isotope developer IsoRay will collaborate with medical imaging software developer MIM Software to improve treatment for head and neck cancer.

Plans are to bundle MIM's brachytherapy treatment planning software with Isoray's Cesium Blu cesium-131 (Cs-131) brachytherapy to expand treatment options and access for physicians and patients.

Cesium Blu is designed to deliver highly targeted treatment of Cs-131 to the site of disease, while preserving healthy tissue and organs. The addition of MIM's software provides physicians with anatomical information to place Cesium Blu seeds at the precise location to treat the patient's cancer.
