eHealth Initiative chief resigns

March 11, 2009 -- The eHealth Initiative (eHI) announced that CEO Janet Marchibroda will resign from her position, effective April 1, 2009.

Marchibroda has served as the organization's CEO since its founding in 2001. She will join IBM of Armonk, NY, as its chief healthcare officer.

Jennifer Covich Bordenick, eHI's current chief operating officer, will serve as interim CEO, according to eHI.

The eHealth Initiative is a Washington, DC-based independent, nonprofit, multistakeholder organization whose mission is to improve the quality, safety, and efficiency of healthcare through information and information technology.
