Radiology Partners adds COVID-19 reporting features

July 7, 2020 -- Imaging services provider Radiology Partners (RP) has unveiled COVID-19 reporting updates for its recoMD artificial intelligence-based radiologist decision-support software.

The addition of COVID-19 reporting guidelines endorsed by the American College of Radiology, the RSNA, and the Society of Thoracic Radiology will help radiologists characterize and report COVID-19 findings in a framework that improves clarity, according to RP.

After using natural language processing to interpret radiologists' reports, recoMD combines that information with patient and exam metadata to provide real-time, evidence-based practice recommendations to radiologists, RP said. The software is designed to reduce reporting variability to help limit unnecessary examinations, as well as to assist radiologists in identifying which patients need follow-up imaging, according to the company.
