November 20, 2015 -- Medical image sharing provider LifeImage plans to highlight the latest generation of its medical image exchange platform at the upcoming RSNA 2015 meeting.

The new platform allows users to develop workflows for exchanging exams with patients using the same electronic image sharing system utilized by clinicians and facilities, the company said. It includes a fully integrated workflow for sharing exams through the RSNA Image Share network, leveraging the Integrating the Healthcare Enterprise (IHE) Cross-Enterprise Document Sharing for Imaging (XDS-I) standard.

Patients can access exams through LifeImage or via any standards-based personal health record application, according to the firm.
