Colorado Telehealth Network partners with IT firms

November 26, 2012 -- Colorado Telehealth Network (CTN) has signed a contract that will enable a statewide medical imaging archive and exchange service through a private cloud archive hosted and managed by GNAX Health. GNAX is also partnering with Acuo Technologies and Client Outlook to provide vendor-neutral archiving services and diagnostic-quality medical image viewing as part of the service.

CTN and GNAX are working with the Colorado Regional Health Information Organization and Quality Health Network to enable physicians to access images and diagnostic reports through the health information exchange. GNAX will also allow CTN to offer disaster recovery and business continuity services. In addition, electronic medical records (EMRs) can be integrated to provide a single interface for viewing all medical images, which is a requirement for stage 2 meaningful use.

The new service will use Acuo's Universal Clinical Platform (UCP) with Client Outlook's eUnity clinical image visualization, sharing, and collaboration toolset, hosted within GNAX's cloud infrastructure and tier four data centers.

GNAX is also providing CTN a Web-based image exchange service, SDEX (Secure DICOM Exchange), that is integrated into Acuo's UCP and utilizes the Client Outlook viewer.

Two hospitals are expected to begin implementation of the service this year, with several additional hospitals slated for 2013.

CTN and the companies discussed the development of the strategic alliance-based service in a presentation at this week's RSNA 2012 meeting in Chicago.
