Lego Group donates model MRI scanners to hospitals

By AuntMinnie.com staff writers

January 25, 2022 -- The Lego Group is donating model MRI scanners to hospitals in an effort to help educate and calm children, according to an article published by Brick Fanatics.

The model uses colors that reflect clinical settings to help younger patients become knowledgeable about the MRI process. Authors of the article published images shared on Twitter by a Lego employee, showing that the model is split into two rooms, one for the MRI scanner and the other for patient monitoring.

The images also show the model's ability to reveal the scanner's internal mechanics. The article also said that a different type of MRI scanner was proposed in 2020 as part of Lego Ideas. However, it was unapproved at the review stage.
