Radiology Patient Action Network praises Congress's Medicare support

By AuntMinnie.com staff writers

December 22, 2022 -- The Radiology Patient Action Network, part of the Radiology Business Management Association (RBMA), is urging long-term fixes for Medicare payments but also praising "limited" congressional support.

Congress this week passed cuts to Medicare payments for independent physician practices. However, it also included conversion factor support to mitigate the cuts' severity. The final 2% cuts are significantly less than what was initially proposed, the network said.

The conversion factor support will help independent practices and is a "small step" in the right direction, the Radiology Patient Action Network said. However, it will continue to advocate for longer-term reform to the Medicare system.
