Cronin initially joined the AHRA as executive director in 2005, filling an extended vacancy in that position. In a blog post, current AHRA President Angelic Bush thanked Cronin for his leadership and listed his many accomplishments. For example, Cronin launched the first capital campaign for the AHRA Education Foundation, raising $4 million. The foundation has now raised more than $10 million during his tenure, Bush said.

Membership has also grown by 50% to more than 5,000 members during a period of decline for other associations, according to Bush. In addition, Cronin's financial management will leave the AHRA with solid reserves for the future, she said.

The AHRA will conduct a search for a new CEO over the next few months.
