PHS Technologies adds to dose monitoring software

By AuntMinnie.com staff writers

July 13, 2015 -- PHS Technologies Group, a unit of PACSHealth, will integrate software from Virtual Phantoms into its radiation dose monitoring system.

PHS Technologies plans to add VirtualDoseCT to its DoseMonitor single-server, browser-based software, which automates radiation dose data collection and reporting. DoseMonitor also integrates into RIS, electronic medical records, and the American College of Radiology (ACR) Dose Index Registry.

VirtualDoseCT is radiation dose simulation software constructed with anatomically correct phantoms, graphics processing unit-based Monte Carlo simulation, and software-as-a-service (SaaS) programming techniques developed from more than a decade of research. It allows users to compute doses to radiosensitive organs for a broad range of patients, including pediatric patients and those who differ from the "average" body size.
