July 24, 2018 -- Artificial intelligence (AI) software developer Viz.ai has raised $21 million in new funding from Kleiner Perkins and GV (formerly Google Ventures).

The company said it will use the funding for market expansion and to extend its product portfolio beyond stroke detection and triage applications. In addition, Kleiner Perkins General Partner Mamoon Hamid will join Viz.ai's board of directors.
