FDA clears Calgary Scientific's ResolutionMD for Android

April 9, 2013 -- Advanced visualization software developer Calgary Scientific has received U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) clearance for the use of its ResolutionMD software to diagnose medical images on Android-powered devices.

The FDA clearance, the first for a mobile image application on the Android platform, expands the availability of ResolutionMD. The software had initially received clearance in 2001 as a mobile diagnostic application on Apple's iPhone and iPad.
