Analogic shows Q2 growth

By staff writers

March 10, 2006 -- Medical imaging firm Analogic reported fiscal 2006 second-quarter revenues from continuing operations of $100 million, up 31% compared with the $76.1 million in sales from continuing operations booked during the same quarter in fiscal 2005.

For the period (end-January 31), the Peabody, MA-based vendor had net income of $29.74 million, a sharp turnaround compared with a net loss of $3.7 million in the second quarter of fiscal 2005.

Analogic said much of the growth in net income was attributable to proceeds from the sale of its Camtronics Medical Systems subsidiary, which it sold to Emageon of Birmingham, AL, for $40 million. Analogic recorded a net gain of $20.6 million in net income in proceeds from the sale.
