French company CIS bio international will be the sole distributor of Syncor International’s iodine-125 brachytherapy seeds in Europe, North Africa, and parts of Asia. The Woodland Hills, CA-based Syncor signed on for a 10-year distribution partnership with CIS, a division of Schering.

More than 100,000 new cases of prostate cancer are diagnosed each year in Europe. Radioactive brachytherapy seeds are implanted in the prostate gland to target cancerous tissue.
