Elkan Gamzu, Ph.D., will begin serving as president and CEO and as a member of the company's board immediately. Gamzu has been interim CEO of the company since July of last year.
Gamzu has more than 35 years of pharmaceutical and biotechnology industry experience. His previous roles include CEO of Pharmos; vice president, project management leadership, of Millennium Pharmaceuticals; CEO of Cambridge Neuroscience; and vice president, drug development, of Warner-Lambert, Epix said.
