November 25, 2012 -- Konica Minolta Medical Imaging USA has announced collaborative technology agreements with UMG/Del Medical and Summit Industries.

The UMG/Del deal will develop a new digital radiography (DR) system to enhance the use of Konica Minolta AeroDR flat-panel technology when used with Del imaging platforms. This will allow some Del Medical systems to be seamlessly integrated with the AeroDR, and provide cable-based communication for image transfer for both the x-ray table and upright bucky systems. This will also continuously charge the AeroDR panel, eliminating the need to remove the panel for charging, the companies noted.

Konica Minolta is also collaborating with Summit Industries to develop a full-room DR system that will allow the use of its AeroDR flat-panel technology as part of Summits' digital systems. As part of the deal, Summit will design a system in which the AeroDR will have wired communication and the panels will be constantly charged.
