The Hamilton and Amabel James Center for Artificial Intelligence and Human Health in Manhattan, NY, will combine AI with science and genomics in one place for researchers to advance their knowledge of the diagnosis and treatment of diseases and promote improved health.
The objective is to focus on three key areas:
- Center for Genomic Health to accelerate the integration of genomics into clinical care throughout the Mount Sinai Health System
- Integrative "omics" (e.g., epigenomics, pharmacogenomics) and multiscale disease modeling through AI and machine-learning approaches developed at the Icahn Institute to identify pathways, drug targets, and therapies for complex human diseases such as cancer, Alzheimer's disease, schizophrenia, obesity, diabetes, inflammatory bowel disease, and cardiovascular disease
- Precision imaging through AI algorithms for x-ray, MRI, CT, PET, and molecular imaging, and for hastening the development of therapies
