July 27, 2012 -- Specimen radiography vendor Faxitron will donate $500,000 worth of equipment and financial assistance toward improving the standard of care in breast cancer diagnosis across Latin America, the company said on Friday at the Inter-American Breast Cancer Conference in Cancun, Mexico.

The support will begin immediately, with full deployment across at least six countries expected before the end of 2013, Faxitron said. Dedicated digital specimen radiography systems and resources will be placed in key centers to improve biopsy and lumpectomy procedures, according to the firm.
