August 9, 2017 -- Handheld-ultrasound technology developer Clarius Mobile Health has released its 3.1 Eclipse mobile ultrasound app.

Clarius 3.1 Eclipse adds enhanced capabilities for annotations, automated heart rate monitoring during cardiac scanning, and bladder volume measurement capabilities, according to the vendor. Other features include a low-power mode to extend battery life and prolong scans. Users can also now simultaneously share an imaging screen with multiple devices by scanning a QR code, Clarius said.

Premium options include color/power Doppler, spatial compounding, needle enhancement, and three-in-one imaging capability on the company's C3 multipurpose ultrasound scanner. The app is now available in the Apple App Store and Google Play store. Clarius noted, however, that some new features are pending regulatory clearance in some countries.
