January 6, 2017 -- Siemens Healthineers has won approval from Health Canada to market its handheld ultrasound unit, Acuson P500 Frosk, in that country.

The scanner comes in a compact notebook format of 15 inches (38 cm) and is designed for emergency departments and smaller, private clinics that need a point-of-care device. It features a touchscreen display with infrared technology, the company said.
