January 10, 2018 -- Imaging services provider Radiology Partners has launched a research center.

The Radiology Partners Research Institute (RPRI) will facilitate research and programs that advance the specialty of radiology, focusing on ways radiologists can use medical imaging to better serve patients, providers, hospitals, and payors, the company said.

The new center's initial academic partners include Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center, and University of Chicago Medicine, according to the firm.

RPRI is currently working on projects related to the use of evidence-based best practice recommendations, radiology-led care coordination, the transition from peer review to peer learning, and applications of machine learning, Radiology Partners said.
