November 28, 2016 -- 3D printing technology developer Stratasys announced new industry collaborations at RSNA 2016 in Chicago.

The RSNA formed a new 3D printing Special Interest Group, and Stratasys Co-founder and Chief Innovation Officer Scott Crump was invited to speak at its first business meeting.

Stratasys is also teaming up with Minneapolis-based Vital Images on medical-based deployments of 3D printing technology. The two firms are jointly exhibiting 3D printing and automated segmentation of medical images at RSNA 2016, supported by Vitrea Advanced Visualization software.

Additionally, at an Ask the Experts evening reception at the conference, Stratasys is working with Vital Images to explore the way hospitals use 3D printing for surgical planning, education, training, and research.
