As the exclusive sponsor of our digital community, your banners will be displayed within your community and within the editorial insider newsletters sent to your community. In addition to the banners, we will send a broadcast message on your behalf to your community members on a quarterly basis.
Banners may be animated, expandable, and may include rich media. Banner positions are: 970x90 super leaderboard along the top of the page, the 300x600 half-page banner along the right side of the page, as well as the optional inline. Each banner on our site has a specific set of requirements, depending on its placement.
Our website uses a responsive layout to reach members who use mobile devices. Separate narrow banners are used for this alternative display, and advertisers must supply these narrow versions. Banner positions are: 450x100 super leaderboard narrow along the top, and 300x250 half-page narrow, below the articles.
The boundaries of your ad need to be clearly defined so they contrast with white - which is the background color of our website. Please outline your ad with a border that is at least one pixel wide, or use a background color other than white. Ads with no clear boundary will have a black, one pixel wide border added to them.
Please take the time to read the banner requirements as they relate to your specific banners. If you are not the person creating the banner, please pass along this information to the designer.
Graphic file - Your graphic file must be in GIF, JPG, or PNG format.
Click URL - The URL is the destination website where readers will visit upon clicking your ad. This may be your home page, or a specific product promotion page. The URL will launch a new browser window.
Alternate text - This is the text that will appear when a viewer holds the mouse cursor over the banner. This is also the text that will appear if, for whatever reason, the reader's browser is unable to load images at the time the page is viewed. Please limit it to 90 characters. Unless you provide alternate text, we will use your company name.
Banners are bigger, and so are the maximum file size limits. Each banner maximum file size is listed in the sample layout pictures, as well as the written details.
Third-Party Ad Serving
We allow third-party ad serving for sponsors of exclusive sections with your understanding that we are unable to provide reporting of views and clicks for each ad that is hosted outside our domain.
