Enabling ultra-high resolution coronary imaging for stent patency and in-stent restenosis

Despite advances in revascularization therapies, in-stent restenosis remains a key problem. According to the current guidelines, conventional CT imaging is currently not recommended for stent patency evaluation due to resolution limitations and artifacts, especially for stents smaller than 3 mm.

The 0.2 mm slice thickness of NAEOTOM Alpha allows Prof. Alkadhi and Prof. Manka from Universitiy Hospital Zurich, Switzerland, to noninvasively evaluate patients with stents or heaviliy calcified coronary arteries. Prof. Alkadhi believes that ultra-high resolution coronary CTA with NAEOTOM Alpha will soon be the recommended imaging method for coronary stent follow-up.
