To the Breast Imaging Community,

Today we stand united with the global community in celebrating International Women's Day.

This annual observance celebrates the achievements of women, raises awareness against bias and encourages action to promote equality. In the world of healthcare, we also recognize this day as a call to action to help ensure women have access to the healthcare they deserve.

Each and every day, GE Healthcare works to support you in providing the best patient care possible, but today, too many women continue to struggle to access the preventative care they deserve, especially when it comes to regular mammograms and early detection that helps save lives.

In 2020, breast cancer became the most common diagnosed cancer type in the world. The International Agency for Research on Cancer estimates that there were more than 2.26 million new cases of breast cancer and almost 685,000 deaths from breast cancer worldwide in 2020. Unfortunately, this situation is projected to get worse with estimates that by 2040 the incidence of breast cancer will increase by more than one third, or more than three million new cases per year, and mortality will increase by more than one half, to more than one million deaths per year.1

And as if this wasn't enough of a challenge – the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, and other socioeconomic considerations have only created more pressures in breast care today.

Over the past two years, you have stepped up to help patients access the best care possible in the face of great uncertainty and we want to recognize your efforts by saying, thank you. We also want to thank organizations - such as our partners Susan G. Komen Center for Public Policy, Breast Cancer Research Foundation, Union for International Cancer Control, Brem Foundation to Defeat Breast Cancer, DenseBreast-info, Inc., along with important advocates like Young Survival Coalition, Know Your Lemons Foundation and many more that have been tireless in their advocacy for access to critical preventative care as well.

Together, with you and these passionate advocates, we are working to share the same critical message - don't skip your mammogram.

The Senographe Pristina™ portfolio of mammography solutions, along with Invenia™ Automated Breast Ultrasound (ABUS), LOGIQ™ Ultrasound, Magnetic Resonance, and other solutions are all part of GE Healthcare's dedicated portfolio of solutions across the breast care pathway.

Together, we can help take care of women wherever they are in the world. We can #BreakTheBias to help ensure we are bringing the right breast care solutions, at the right moment, with the best patient experience to all women both near and far - regardless of socioeconomic and racial demographic. We stand by our commitment to help you build stronger, healthier communities and we are confident that we can get there together.

We are steadfast in our commitment to you, and to the goals and mission that the global community commemorates in our celebration of International Women's Day and we look forward to working with you in the journey ahead.

We deliver for you, so you can be there for them.
