Volpara Partnership

iCAD is pleased to announce its first installation of the VolparaTM Automated Volumetric Breast Density software at Weinstein Imaging Associates in Pittsburgh, PA. As awareness grows for the reporting of patient's breast density in the USA along with all of the various legislative efforts, we feel having this as an available option to our digital CAD systems is essential. Automated breast density assessment takes the subjectivity out of the process and standardizes the method. It helps the clinic, the clinician, and ultimately the patient better understand what their true breast density is. We feel that this is the first step in creating personalized medicine to facilitate better patient care.

MR/TRUS Fusion Integration

Together with our partner Koelis, iCAD is developing a new, work-in-progress integration of prostate MRI/TRUS-Fusion that will allow radiologists and urologists to provide a more accurate assessment of the prostate gland. This innovative technology will increase the accuracy of TRUS biopsies by better localizing the area of concern through the fusion of MRI and Ultrasound images. The resultant core sample tracts can be archived for subsequent TRUS biopsies.

iCAD will be showing this technology at the American Urological Association Annual Meeting. See us in the Koelis stand May 19-23 at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta, GA, Booth #4330.

Carestream Partnership

iCAD has entered into a global distribution agreement with Carestream Health. Under the agreement, iCAD's MRI product suite of SpectraLook®, PrecisionPoint®, VividLook®, OmniLook®, and VersaVue® Enterprise, and iCAD's SecondLook® Digital Multi-Vendor mammography CAD solution will be available for purchase with Carestream's market-leading Vue PACS. iCAD's MRI and mammography solutions assist radiologists in distinguishing potential cancers as part of their overall analysis of MRI and mammography studies. SpectraLook, PrecisionPoint, VividLook, OmniLook, and SecondLook Digital Multi-Vendor solution will be available for purchase with Carestream's Vue PACS, and will be available as an upgrade to current customers.

Documenting the location of systematic transrectal ultrasound-guided prostate biopsies: correlation with multi-parametric MRI.

Based on correlation with tracked biopsies, T2-weighted MRI and apparent diffusion coefficient maps derived from diffusion-weighted MRI are the most sensitive sequences, whereas the addition of delayed contrast enhancement MRI and three-dimensional magnetic resonance spectroscopy demonstrated higher specificity consistent with results obtained using radical prostatectomy specimens.

Turkbey, B., et.al. Documenting the location of systematic transrectal ultrasound-guided prostate biopsies: correlation with multi-parametric MRI. Cancer Imaging. 2011 Mar 29;11:31-6.

Multiparametric MRI is helpful to predict tumor focality, stage, and size in patients diagnosed with unilateral low-risk prostate cancer.

Can help to predict bilateral involvement. Multiparametric MRI may therefore have a prognostic value and help to determine optimal treatment in such patients.

Dynamic gadolinium-enhanced perfusion MRI of prostate cancer: assessment of response to hypofractionated robotic stereotactic body radiation therapy.

Dynamic gadolinium-enhanced MRI is a useful tool for monitoring the response of prostate cancer to robotic stereotactic body radiation therapy, yielding both qualitative and quantitative data.
