An upcoming special edition of the Journal of the American College of Radiology will focus on controversial issues facing radiology today. Called the Provocative Issue, the edition will highlight a half-dozen controversial topics, with the goal of stimulating discussion and debate.
Topics covered in the issue include subjects such as whole-body cancer screening, the use of physician extenders in radiology, and the use of artificial intelligence in radiology. The articles are written in a point-counterpoint format.
In this video interview, we talk to three of the co-guest editors on the Provocative Issue: Dr. Reed Omary, chair of the department of radiology and radiological sciences at Vanderbilt University Medical Center; Dr. Caroline Chung, an associate professor of radiation oncology and diagnostic radiology at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, and Dr. Christoph Lee, a professor of radiology at the University of Washington.
The Provocative Issue will be published with the January edition of JACR. JACR is making all of the articles in the special edition open access.
