Device group picks ACR use case on AI for demo project

The Medical Device Innovation Consortium's National Evaluation System for Health and Technology Coordinating Center (NESTcc) has chosen an artificial intelligence (AI) use case from the American College of Radiology (ACR) among its first demonstration projects.

Known as "Lung-RADS Assist: Advanced Radiology Guidance, Reporting, and Monitoring," the ACR Data Science Institute use case is a clinical scenario involving the deployment of an AI algorithm to aid radiology reporting.

NESTcc demonstration projects are intended to develop, verify, and make operational methods of evidence generation and data use in order to expedite the delivery of safe and effective medical device technologies to market. The NESTcc receives funding from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
