IMRIS, Hill-Rom get FDA nod for operating room table

Image-guided therapy developer IMRIS and Hill-Rom's Trumpf Medical company have received U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) clearance for the TruSystem 7500 MR neuro surgical table, a multifunctional operating room table.

The table integrates an IMRIS MR neuro tabletop and Hill-Rom's TruSystem 7500 surgical table platform with the IMRIS surgical theater. IMRIS and Hill-Rom said the table is engineered for the MRI environment, integrates with the IMRIS head fixation portfolio, and is segmented to provide optimal patient positioning. In addition, the table features interchangeable tops to facilitate multidisciplinary use, according to the vendors.

The companies plan to conduct a limited market evaluation before fully releasing the TruSystem 7500 MR neuro surgical table in early 2018.
