Acist to launch new FFR device

Contrast injector developer Acist Medical Systems will launch a new fractional flow reserve (FFR) device at the Transcatheter Cardiovascular Therapeutics (TCT) meeting being held next week in Denver.

Called Acist RXi Mini, the new system is capable of measuring fractional flow reserve to complement angiography, as well as assess lesion severity. It is designed to integrate into current hemodynamic systems, with flexible configurations, an intuitive user interface, and a small system profile, the company said.

Unlike standard systems, Acist RXi Mini tackles the challenge of using pressure wires by permitting physicians to use their choice of 0.014-inch guidewires during procedures.

Acist Medical Systems is a subsidiary of contrast developer Bracco Imaging.
