Myocardial Solutions debuts new calibration tool

Cardiac MR software developer Myocardial Solutions has developed a new calibration tool.

Dynamic Phantom mimics the contraction of heart muscle by compressing a silicone gel, much like heart tissue compresses during a heartbeat. The phantom is placed in an MRI scanner and the firm's MyoStrain software measures the consistent strain in the silicone gel produced by the mechanical phantom device.

Using this method, Myocardial Solutions can confirm the accuracy of its MyoStrain software results against the known mechanical strain results of various scanners, the firm said.
