Accuray points to Radixact research at AAPM 2017

Radiation oncology vendor Accuray is directing attention to several presentations involving its Radixact radiation therapy system at last week's annual meeting of the American Association of Physicists in Medicine (AAPM) in Denver.

The studies -- the first to be presented on Radixact -- included a report on how Radixact treatment plans required much less development time than plans created using Accuray's TomoHDA technology. It also decreased beam-on times during treatment, Accuray said.

In addition, the first clinical assessment of image guidance capabilities with Radixact's low-dose fan-beam megavoltage CT found no significant difference in the noise, uniformity, and stability of Hounsfield unit measurements over a three-month evaluation period, according to the vendor.
