The proposed 2018 Medicare Physician Fee Schedule (MPFS) from the U.S. Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) would cut payments to independent diagnostic testing facilities (IDTFs) by 6%, according to the American College of Radiology (ACR).
The cut for IDTFs is associated with a practice expense relative value unit (RVU) change, the ACR said. However, most medical imaging practitioners will likely see few changes in their rates if the MPFS rule is implemented as proposed, according to the ACR.
