IBA to show updated synthesizer at SNMMI 2017

Proton therapy developer Ion Beam Applications (IBA) plans to show an upgraded version of its radiopharmaceutical synthesizer at next week's annual meeting of the Society of Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging (SNMMI).

Synthera+ features a single-use disposable cassette, an integrated fluidic processor, and a set of commercially available reagents for the synthesis of a wide variety of compounds, including FDG, sodium fluoride (NaF), fluoromisonidazole (FMISO), choline, fluorodopa (FDOPA), and florbetaben (NeuraCeq, Piramal Imaging).

IBA is touting the synthesizer as the smallest device on the market, and one that can fit into any hot cell. Synthera+ also offers multirun capability with the loader and automatic ejection system.
